The Soldier Brave and The Red Cross Maid
(Boy) Here you are a new recruit,
In an olive khaki suit,
With brave hear, firm tread, and clear and steadfast eye.
The fair land that gave me birth Is the dearest land on earth,
And for her I gladly now will do or die.
(Girl) Here's a little Red Cross Maid, All in spotless white arrayed,
And I've come, Sir Soldier Brave, with you to work.
Tho' the duty hard may be, I will do it cheerfully,
You will find the Red Cross Maid will never shirk.
Oh, the Soldier Brave, and the Red Cross Maid,
They will do their duty bravely, cool and calm and unafraid.
Where our starry banner flies, 'Neath our own or foreign skies,
There you're sure to find the Soldier and the Red Cross Maid.
Oh, the Soldier Brave and the Red Cross Maid,
Where-so e'er our country calls them, you will find the call obeyed.
You may serve your country, too, If you just your duty do.

(Boy) If my land to war must go, She can call on me and know
Quickly I will answer to the battle cry.
Where-so e'er she calls, I'll go, And, with face set to the foe,
She will find her Soldier Boys will do or die.
(Girl) With you I to was will go, You shall have good care you know
If you're sick or wounded, you will want us there.
Many precious lives we'll save From the cold and ruthless grave.
All the Soldier Boys will bless the Red Cross fair.

The will do their duty Bravely cool and calm and unafraid.
Who-so e're his best will give, For his country's good will live,
That one truly is a Soldier or a Red Cross Maid.

Ev'ry one can be a Soldier or a Red Cross Maid.
(Boy) When my country is at peace, My devotion shall not cease.
I'll be just as ready, then, my life to give.
I will fight 'gainst graft and greed, True in heart and word and deed,
For our Nation needs brave men for her to live.
(Girl) And the Red Cross Maid, in peace, Will not find her duties cease.
In calamity or trouble, she'll be there. Join our ranks, each man and maid,
Of you duty ne'er afraid, And we'll make our country glorious and fair.
